Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is CampusCred?

CampusCred is about students trying new places and doing new things… this is college! To be more specific, CampusCred – aka this website with a squirrel on it - lets students discover and share their favorite local businesses, events, and activities around campus. So how exactly do we do that? We offer students a great promotion (50% off or more) every couple of days to try a new business and save some money in the process… sweet right? We thought so too! But it doesn’t stop there. You can write reviews on your favorite businesses for other students to see as well as receive exclusive offers from all the businesses you are following!

  • How does CampusCred work?

If you see a deal you like, get it! Simply purchase the deal on CampusCred and you’ll receive a voucher to use the deal at the business. The deal is offered on our site until the "time left to buy" counter reaches zero. To redeem the deal, you can either have your voucher ID texted to your phone or you can simply print out the voucher.

  • Does it cost anything to be a CampusCred member?

Nope, there is absolutely no fee to be a member of CampusCred!

  • Why the Squirrel?

Well, if there is one thing to be found at a college campus it's squirrels. Inspired youth looking to be educated? Not so much, mainly squirrels. And not just any squirrels, we’re talking smart and very people-comfortable squirrels...

  • How do I redeem my deal?

To access any deal you purchased, simply log into your account and go to “My Deals” (check the “My CampusCred” dropdown at the top right). Select “Text My Voucher” or “Email My Voucher.” Once you have your voucher just show the business during check out to redeem the deal!

  • When can I use my voucher at the business?

We hate waiting so all of our deals are instantly redeemable unless otherwise noted. You can use your voucher any time any day until the expiration date (typically 3 months). Even after the expiration date you can still redeem the voucher at the business, but only for the value you paid (i.e. you never lose any money, you just miss out on the awesome deal).

  • What is the general fine print?

Unless otherwise noted, these terms apply to all vouchers: Not valid with any other offers. Limit one per visit. Not valid for cash back (must use in one visit). Vouchers cannot be combined. Does not include tax or gratuity.

As a friendly reminder, let's not bolster the reputation of students being bad tippers; please tip your server on the original bill total!

  • Can I purchase more than one voucher for the same deal?

Depends on the deal! The fine print for each deal will specify the limit per customer, so be sure to take a quick look. If you can purchase more than one you will see a drop down during checkout to select the quantity you want. You are always limited to using one voucher per visit.

  • Can I purchase deals at other schools?

Of course! In fact you can sign up for any school's email alert for new deals so you don't miss a beat.

  • Do I have to use the entire value of the voucher in one visit?

A CampusCred voucher can only be used once. If you don't use the full value of the voucher during your visit, any remaining value will be lost. Example: you have a voucher worth $10 at Yogurtopia (that's actually a pretty catchy name for a hypothetical yogurt place) and when you redeem the voucher your total comes out to $8. You don’t have to use the remaining $2 value, but you won’t be able to use it again so you might as well try an extra topping!

  • What happens if I spend more than the value of the voucher?

Big spender eh? No problem, you just have to pay the difference between your total bill and the value of the voucher. Example: you have a voucher worth $10 at Yogurtopia (yes, the very same hypothetical place!) and when you redeem the voucher your total comes out to $14. You would have to pay the $4 difference.

  • What happens if my voucher expired and I didn’t get to use it?

When your voucher expires you can still redeem it at the business for the value of what you paid. Example: you paid $5 for a $10 voucher to use at Pizza Land and it expired. You can still redeem the voucher for $5 at Pizza Land so you never lose any money even if your voucher expires.

  • General review policies?

We want the truth! Good or bad, we aren’t going to touch, move, or alter reviews in any way. CampusCred is about students reviewing for fellow students. That being said, we will remove any reviews that contain profanity, directly name individuals, are too short (i.e. no real content), or are full of gibberish.
