Best in Tahoe

After spending a week in Lake Tahoe and skiing four different resorts, I enjoyed Kirkwood the best. The snow was terrific and there were no crowds (I didn't wait for a single lift line all day). There are plenty of places that you can ski off the trails if you're into glade skiing, and since there is so little infrastructure on the backside of the mountain, it feels like you're out in the middle of nowhere.

When I went to Kirkwood last season, I had not touched a snowboard in my life. But by the time I left I was shredding snow like Shaun White. OK, maybe not at his level yet, but learning how to board at Kirkwood was extremely fun. I'm glad Kirkwood popped my cherry.

Triple Threat

Great pass. Didn't tell you that you had to go get three different resort passes though, and it should've included Squaw - that stunk. Also think Homewood shouldn't have had blackout dates cause the season started so late. You live and you learn.
